Management in Radiology (MIR)

Those involved in the field of healthcare are experiencing a time of increasing pressure, stress and change. The demand for efficiency and effectiveness in all business and administrative matters is constantly growing. MIR addresses current challenges and provides a forum for education and the exchange of ideas and concepts.

MIR 2014 Annual Meeting
October 2-3, 2014

The annual MIR conference took place in the beautiful historic city of Bologna (Italy) on Thursday and Friday, October 2 and 3, 2014.

There were sessions on eHealth and teleradiology, communication and reporting, quality aspects, impact of globalisation on Radiology, as well as new topics e.g. personalized medicine and imaging biobanks.

EuroSafe Imaging Radiation Protection Session

The European Society of Radiology (ESR) hold a Radiation Protection Session at the Management in Radiology Annual Meeting 2014.
The programme for the Session – which consists of lectures and interactive discussions on the theory and clinical practice of radiation protection, from a review of principles of radiological protection to a comprehensive discussion on protection of patients and staff in diagnostic and interventional radiology – is available here

Master-course Management in Radiology
April 24-25, 2015
Moscow, Russia

We are delighted to invite you to a master-course, “Management in Radiology”, which is going to take place on April 24-25, 2015 in Moscow, Russia.
The course will be focused on managerial aspects of the healthcare system, particularly of radiology departments. The course will enable the participants to acquire new knowledge and skills in the management of upstream and downstream relationships, developing a strategic framework to analyze the design, planning, and operational decisions within the healthcare system, understanding of legislative issues, and hiring and keeping healthcare workers.
The course includes both lectures and workshops. Course language: Russian. Simultaneous translation will be provided for the English speaking participants.

Master-Course “Management in Radiology”
April 25-26, 2014

Thank you for your participation in the master-course “Management in Radiology”, which took place on April 25-26, 2014. The course hosted more than 150 healthcare workers of various specialties: radiologists, directors and heads of radiology departments, managers and administrators of medical institutions, medical directors and owners of private clinics, distributors of medical IT technologies, and others. 

Participants came from various regions of Russia: from the Central part of Russia to the Northern and West Siberian parts.

The course focused on such topics as medical management, marketing, analytics, medical law, and information technologies in radiology.

The main issues in innovative management in radiology and its development were stated by Professor Sergey Morozov. In his presentation Prof. Morozov addressed the issues of department team-work, cooperation, and timely feedback between radiologists and clinicians, all vital for high-quality personalized medicine. He also provided analytical data and a strategy planning scheme and key points that influence the execution of top-management goals and tasks. Most importantly, proved practical solutions were proposed for tackling workflow issues. Special emphasis was placed on modern patient-oriented medicine and radiology in particular.
